Oh…Em…Gee, can you believe it? The greatest beer bar on the planet (well, in Vancouver) is starting their own brewery. This pleasant news came to me a while ago and I didn’t blog about it because I didn’t want to be a douche, but now it’s official. The Alibi Room is starting their own brewery in Vancouver, likely to brew delicious beer that will be sold at the Alibi Room and at other fine establishments around town. This news comes straight from the mouth and keyboard of Alibi Room owner Nigel Spingthorpe, so it must be true. I can’t wait to hear more.
Cheers,
Chris
I’ve been to roughly 0.00431% of the planet, and probably 99% of the place on earth that serve beer (+/- 98.99%). So I think I can say with some authority: Alibi Room is the best place to drink beer in the world. No big deal. Has nothing to do with the fact that it’s less than a block from my house.
It’s definitely top ten in the world (of rad beer places I’ve been).
Dang, I was hoping for the scope on this, but was also holding off to avoid doucheyness.
Quick correction, though, is that the beer will absolutely NOT be served at the Alibi due to our tied house laws. This is the same reason there’s no P49 at St Augustines.
Thanks for the correction. Sorry I scooped you, but take comfort in that I got it wrong and have garnered more doucheyness.

This seems to say that Nigel is teaming up with Conrad Gmoser, of Steamworks fame, to open Brassneck brewery on Main and 6th.
Another update, they have a twitter account now: https://twitter.com/brassneckbrew
